Andy Hunter Workshop

Trombonist Andy Hunter, a member of Cologne's WDR Big Band since 2012, joins us for a workshop open to trombonists and other instruments. Born in Northern Michigan and shaped by the music scenes of Cleveland, Shanghai and New York, Hunter has toured worldwide with the Mingus Big Band, the Richard Bona Group, the Toshiko Akiyoshi/Lew Tabackin Jazz Orchestra and T.S. Monk's tentet, and has recorded with Snarky Puppy, Bob Mintzer and Orrin Evans' Captain Black Big Band. His albums as a leader include Think Like a Mountain (2012) and Confluence (2017), co-led with saxophonist Johan Hörlén. A dedicated educator, he has taught on the jazz faculties of Tri-C in Cleveland and Rutgers University and gives clinics and master classes internationally.
